How it works
How DiyoEdu Desktop works without internet
DiyoEdu Desktop does not need an internet connection for core school work. It runs on the computers in your school office and saves what staff enter on those computers, so a dropped connection does not stop the school day.
What keeps working
Taking attendance, recording fees and receipts, and keeping student records up to date all continue while the connection is down. The same core modules are available as in DiyoEdu Online.
Where the records are kept
On your school’s own computers — machines the school already controls. Nothing needs to reach an outside server for the office to keep working.
How records move
When records need to move, they travel as encrypted files through your school’s own Google Drive. Because Google Drive is an online service, moving records needs a connection; day-to-day work does not.
What your school looks after
Working offline does not automatically mean records are backed up or safe from loss — a failing or stolen computer takes its local data with it. Decide who can use the office computers and who keeps copies of your records. Our guide to protecting school records covers the basics.
