LEGAL INFORMATION

DiyoEdu Terms of Service

The terms that apply when a school uses DiyoEdu.

These Terms govern the DiyoEdu website, the online service and the desktop and mobile applications provided by G NOX Tech Pvt. Ltd. They explain what a school can expect from us, and what we ask in return. If your school has signed a separate agreement with us, that agreement takes priority where it differs from these Terms.

How personal information is handled is described separately in our Privacy Policy. These Terms do not replace it.

At a glance

A summary only — the numbered clauses below are the terms that apply.

  • Who is covered. Schools, the people they authorize, and the DiyoEdu website, online service and applications. A signed school agreement takes priority.
  • School-controlled access. Your school creates accounts, sets roles, supervises use and removes access. We act on the school's instructions.
  • Records and privacy. Schools control the records they enter; we process them to provide the service. Personal information is covered by the Privacy Policy.
  • Commercial terms. Price, billing period, renewal and cancellation come from your school's quote or agreement, not this page.

Who these Terms apply to

These Terms are published by G NOX Tech Pvt. Ltd. (“G NOX Tech”, “we”, “us” or “our”), the company behind DiyoEdu. In these Terms, “services” means this website, the DiyoEdu online service, and the desktop and mobile applications we make available to your school.

They apply to the school or organization that takes a DiyoEdu subscription (the “school”) and to the people the school authorizes to use the services — its staff and, where the school enables it, students and parents (each, an “authorized user”). Where a student is a minor, the school and the student’s parent or guardian decide whether that student is given access.

A school accepts these Terms when it agrees to them in writing while signing up for DiyoEdu, for example by signing an order form or a school agreement. An authorized user accepts them by using the services with access the school has granted. Visiting this website alone does not make anyone a party to these Terms.

If your school has signed a separate agreement with us, including any order form or service schedule, that agreement is the contract between us. Where it differs from these Terms, the signed agreement applies; where your agreement is silent, these Terms apply.

School accounts and authorized access

DiyoEdu is administered by your school. We provide the service; your school decides who is given an account, what that account can reach, and when it is taken away.

Who creates and manages accounts

The person your school nominates to manage accounts acts for the school, and we treat that person’s instructions as the school’s.

Your school is responsible for the accuracy of the account details it gives us, for keeping passwords and sign-in codes secret, and for telling us promptly if it suspects an account has been reached without permission. Our contact route is set out in Questions and disputes.

Supervision and keeping access current

Schools should supervise how staff, students and parents use the services, review permissions when someone changes role or leaves, and remove access on the day it is no longer needed.

  • Use individual sign-ins rather than one shared login, wherever your edition allows it.
  • Review who has access at least once a term, and remove leavers the same day.
  • Keep sign-in details out of message groups, shared drives and printed lists.

Students and minors

Where a school enables student or parent access, the school is responsible for obtaining any consent or authorization required by law for younger users, and for deciding which students may take part. Student accounts are for school-related use under the school’s supervision.

Using DiyoEdu

The services are for school administration: attendance, timetables, classes, fees, examinations, student records, school-to-home communication, and the other functions your edition provides. Use them for those purposes and for anything else your school asks you to do.

Use DiyoEdu lawfully and with respect for other people. Do not harass staff, students or parents, do not post material you have no right to share, and do not use the service to break the law or anyone else’s rights.

What we do not allow

  • Signing in to an account you have not been given, or getting around access controls.
  • Interfering with the service or with other people’s use of it — for example by overloading it, disrupting it, or deliberately causing errors.
  • Sending malware, or running automated attacks, scanning or scraping without our written permission. This does not restrict interoperability your school has set up, or rights you have under law.
  • Extracting records in bulk except through the features provided for that purpose, or as your agreement allows.
  • Removing ownership notices from the software, or reverse engineering it except where the law allows and we have agreed in writing.

We do not publish the internal checks we use to spot misuse. If your school needs a use this section does not clearly cover, ask us first.

School information and privacy

Your school stays in control of the records it and its users enter into DiyoEdu — student and staff information, attendance, fees and similar. We do not claim ownership of those records.

We process school records to provide the services to your school, to support them, and as your school otherwise directs — not for purposes unrelated to running DiyoEdu for your school. Your school is responsible for what it enters, for having the right to enter it, and for keeping it accurate.

School records are not the only information involved. Sign-in details, messages to support and billing records are handled separately, and the Privacy Policy explains what we collect in those situations and how it is treated.

The Privacy Policy applies alongside these Terms. Where the two cover the same personal information, the Privacy Policy is the fuller document.

Online and offline editions

DiyoEdu comes in more than one shape. The online service runs in a browser and keeps records in our cloud service, so it needs a working internet connection. The desktop edition is installed on your school’s computers and is built to keep core work going without one.

How and when local changes are shared with the online edition depends on your setup. Our Platform and Desktop pages describe the intended behavior; confirm the detail for your edition with our team before you rely on it.

Where records exist only on a school computer, they are under your school’s care: the security of the machine, who can sit down and open it, and school-controlled copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. These Terms do not promise that local records are backed up, synchronized without loss, or recoverable after a device fails.

If your edition comes with its own addendum or service schedule, that document applies to the edition it covers, and these Terms apply alongside it.

Subscriptions, payment and cancellation

We do not sell DiyoEdu through an online checkout. Each school is quoted a price for the modules, users and edition it needs. What is included, the price, the billing period and any taxes are recorded in the quote, order form or signed agreement your school accepts — that record, not this page, is where your school’s pricing lives.

Invoices and payment

Invoices follow the billing period in your agreement. Unless your agreement says otherwise, payment is due by the date shown on the invoice, and any taxes required by law are added to it. If an invoice looks wrong, tell us before the due date and we will review it with your school.

Renewal, changes and cancellation

Your agreement states whether it runs for a fixed term or continues month to month, and what happens at the end of that term. Nothing on this page renews a subscription automatically: renewal happens only on the terms your school agreed, and we will give any notice those terms require.

Prices for future periods change only as your agreement allows, and published plan pricing changes only with notice. To cancel, follow the process in your agreement and speak to us before a renewal date, so wind-down and any data export can be handled properly. Refunds are handled under your agreement.

Availability, updates and support

We work to keep DiyoEdu available. Like any software, the service can still be interrupted — for maintenance or updates, because of a fault, because of your own devices or connection, or because of a third party it depends on.

We do not publish an uptime figure, a maintenance window or a support response time on this page. If your school has agreed commitments of that kind, they live in your agreement, and that document is what applies.

We release fixes and improvements over time. The online service is updated by us; desktop installations are updated on your school’s computers, so keeping them current is part of your school’s maintenance. Ask us what applies to your installation if needed.

Support is provided through the contact channels on our Contact page. What support covers — how to reach us, when, and what is included — is set out in your agreement or in the material given to your school when it signs up.

If we plan a material change to the services, or to retire a feature your school relies on, we will give reasonable notice through the channel we use with you, unless a change is needed for security or required by law. Where your agreement sets out a notice period, that period applies.

Software and intellectual property

DiyoEdu — its name and logo, the interface, the code and the documentation — belongs to G NOX Tech and our licensors, and is protected by intellectual property law. These Terms do not transfer any of that ownership to your school.

In return, while your school has a valid agreement with fees paid up, we give the school a limited right to let authorized users access and use the services for its own school administration during the agreed term. That right is non-exclusive, cannot be transferred, and ends with the agreement.

We claim no rights in your school’s records. Your school gives us only the permissions needed to store, process and display them so the service works and so we can provide support. Material a school uploads or links from elsewhere remains the school’s or the third party’s.

Any limit on how many devices or installations a license covers is the one in your license or agreement; ask us before rolling the desktop edition out more widely.

Third-party services

Parts of DiyoEdu depend on third parties — services that help us run the online service, reach your school, or take payment where payments are offered. Their own terms govern what they provide.

There is a difference between providers we use to run the service and outside services your school chooses to connect. Where your school opts into a third-party service, that provider’s terms apply to your school’s use of it, and your school should review them.

We do not publish a list of every supplier on a public page. Where a third-party relationship would materially affect your school’s decision, ask us and we will describe it at the level your school needs. Third-party services are outside our control; if one fails or changes, we will tell your school what it means for the service.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend an account or a school’s access, or end an agreement, when a serious or repeated breach of these Terms continues after notice, when invoices remain unpaid after we have chased them, when continuing to provide the service would break the law, or when the service is being discontinued.

Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell the school what has happened and give it a fair chance to put the problem right first. Security problems and legal obligations will not always allow time for that.

Ending a subscription

Your school may end its subscription as its agreement allows, by giving the notice that agreement requires. Either party may end the agreement for the reasons set out in it. Ending the agreement ends the school’s right to use the services.

After the agreement ends

Ask us about exporting your school’s records before the end date. What can be exported, and how long access remains available for that, is set out in your agreement and the Privacy Policy.

Some information is kept after an account closes — billing records we must hold under law, and copies retained for a limited period as described in the Privacy Policy. The rest is deleted or de-identified on that schedule; we do not promise immediate deletion of every copy.

Service limitations and responsibility

DiyoEdu is software, and software is imperfect. It can be interrupted, contain defects, and depend on devices, connections and third parties outside our control. We work to keep it dependable and fix problems when we find them, but nothing here means the service will be fault-free.

Your school is responsible for its own side: the devices and internet connection it uses, the accounts it creates and keeps secure, the accuracy of what it enters, and its own copies of records it cannot afford to lose.

Any limits on what we are responsible for are those in your school’s agreement and permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights your school has under law that cannot be excluded. Nor do these Terms promise specific results: whether DiyoEdu suits your school is for your school to judge with our team before signing up.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product, our practices and the law change. When we do, we will date this page and tell your school through the channel we use with you. A change takes effect from the date stated in that notice.

If your school has a signed agreement, these Terms do not change what that agreement says. The agreement continues on its own terms, and we will handle any overlap as the agreement provides.

We do not apply changes retroactively to a period that has already passed. If a change does not work for your school, raise it with us before it takes effect and we will explain what it means for your agreement.

Questions and disputes

Most questions are settled by a conversation. Call +977 9814016996 or +977 9765321157, or use our Contact page, and tell us your school’s name, your edition and what the question is about. We will route it to the right person.

Raise issues as soon as you notice them — an invoice that looks wrong, access someone should not have — while the records are fresh. Formal notices should use the contact route published on our Contact page, addressed to the person named in your agreement.

The agreement your school has signed sets out the law that applies to it and how a dispute is handled. We do not name a court or a process on this page that has not been agreed with your school. If you are unsure what your agreement says, ask us and we will send your school a copy of its own terms.
